Application for the establishment of the Japan Chapter of ISOC (ISOC-JC)

Dear Sir:

As we have indicated at the last ISOC BoT meeting in Prague on June 13-14, 1994,
we  would like to establish a Chapter in Japan for the entire Japan region, and 
thus we are formally requesting your permission to proceed with this letter and 
the accompanied charter. Since we have more than 174 dues-paying members of 
ISOC residing in Japan, Japan is well qualified to establish a chapter as 
stipulated in your Guideline.

A point for your consideration is a category of our associate membership. We 
would like to accommodate members who are not dues-paying ISOC members. Of 
course, we will try to encourage the latter people to become ISOC members.

If this application is approved by ISOC, we will have a kickoff meeting for 
ISOC-JC on August 2, 1994 in Tokyo by inviting you (as a keynote speaker) and 
all ISOC members residing in Japan.

The following is a tentative list of our officers to be approved at the 
August-2 meeting above.
